Turkey sacks 18,500 officers, soldiers and academics in coup crackdown

More than 1,10,000 government officials have been removed since the attempted coup in Turkey in July 2016, while tens of thousands more have been suspended. Turkey accuses US-based Muslim preacher Fethullah Gulen of orchestrating the attempted coup.
